Innermost of six planets locked in a perfect chain of orbital resonances
Overview
HD 110067 is a K-type main-sequence star with six known sub-Neptune exoplanets with radii ranging from 1.94 R🜨 to 2.85 R🜨. The planets orbit the host star in a rhythmic orbital resonance. The star, and related planetary system, is located 105 light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.

NASA: HD 110067 b is a Neptune-like exoplanet that orbits a K-type star. Its mass is 5.69 Earths, it takes 9.1 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.0793 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2023.
Why it matters
- Found in 2023 with TESS and CHEOPS, 100 light-years away around a bright star.
- The six sub-Neptunes orbit in 3:2 and 4:3 resonances, undisturbed since they formed.
- The brightest star known to host more than four transiting planets, making it ideal for JWST.
NASA puts it this way: “HD 110067 b is a Neptune-like exoplanet that orbits a K-type star. Its mass is 5.69 Earths, it takes 9.1 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.0793 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2023.”
